Millions of US adults have a sleep disorder, out of which more than fifty percent report snoring. Drowsy driving is responsible for many fatalities and even nonfatal injuries are also reported annually in the United States. Few serious sleep disorders affect normal physical, mental, social and emotional functioning.
Age-adjusted prevalence has seen six-fold increase in any sleep disorder diagnosis. Maximum were seen in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental disorders. It increased from less than 1 % in 2000 to nearly 6% in 2010. Sleep apnea was 47 %, followed by insomnia, 26 %. Old people with cardiovascular disease, cancer, or other chronic diseases experienced higher rates of sleep disorder diagnoses compared to healthy ones.
Global Sleep Aids Market is valued at $49,543 million in 2016, and should reach $79,851 million by 2022.From 2017 to 2023 a CAGR of 7.0% should be registered. Sleep disorders categorized into insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, Narcolepsy and sleep walking are analysed in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Canada.
